Israeli dance specialist Mona Goldstein, of the Washington,
D.C. area, will visit San Antonio from May 6–7, in
connection with "Viva Israel," San Antonio's Yom
Ha'atzmaut celebration at Sunset Station on Wednesday night,
May 7. Goldstein will be available on Tuesday afternoon and
Wednesday to work with various Jewish groups in San Antonio,
including our synagogue religious schools and the EKA. She
will appear at "Viva Israel" to lead special
children's dance activities from 5–6 p.m. and from
6:45–7:30 p.m., as well as to lead our entire community
in celebratory dancing later in the evening. A biologist in
the biomedical research field by day, Goldstein leads several
weekly Israeli dance sessions in the D.C. area for adults and
children, and has choreographed her own dances which are
popular amongst the world-wide Israeli dance community. She
has been dancing since childhood, in high school performed
with Yesodot Israeli dance troupe of D.C., and is known
throughout the Israeli dance community for her leadership, as
well as her warm and energetic personality. Goldstein's visit
is generously underwritten by the Jewish Federation of San
Antonio's Yom Ha'atzmaut Committee, chaired by Tova Rubin and
Robbie Greenblum.
